About the WA Cares Fund:

The Long-Term Services and Supports Trust Act, now called the WA Cares Fund, was enacted in 2019 and created a long-term care insurance program that will help cover the costs of long-term care for Washington workers.

About the LTSS Trust Commission:

The LTSS Trust Commission consists of legislators, administering agencies and stakeholders. Its purpose is to propose recommendations to the legislature or appropriate executive agency regarding issues related to the WA Cares Fund. WA Cares benefits became available to eligible beneficiaries in July 2026.
