LTC TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
Initial Long Term Care Training

8 Hour Course (which includes 2 hours of VA specific Partnership training)

Refresher Training

4 Hour Course

Training Reciprocity Between States

Yes

Non-Resident Producers:  If you've already taken an 8 hour NAIC course in another state, you will be required to take an additional  2 hour Virginia specific Partnership course.  The 2 hour course is a one time only requirement and there is no renewal necessary, EXCEPT Transamerica, who requires that a renewal be done every 24 months. I have confirmed with with MOO, Minn Life and NGL that they also only require it as a one time course!

Please note that currently CA, CT, DC, DE, HI, IN, MS and NY are not reciprocal with Virginia

Training/Lapse Guidelines

Refresher must be taken within 24 months of the previous course.  If a producer misses the 24-month deadline for the refresher, they must take the initial eight-hour course again.  This change became effective as of September 2012.

EXCEPTION TO LAPSE IS GENWORTH: - Per Genworth on 5/5/14 (Ashley), Genworth allows a lapse in CE training.

Carrier Requirements

Nationwide  and Lincoln do not require CE training for this state, but the CE can be used in other states with reciprocity.
