## Claim numbers for LTC coverage starting to add up

Although year over year sales for LTC have been flat recently, the amount of claims being paid has steadily increased. This is not surprising considering how common the long-term care need is among older adults.

[According to the AALTCI](http://www.aaltci.org/news/long-term-care-insurance-association-news/long-term-care-insurance-industry-paid-7-5-billion-in-claim-benefits), about $7.5 billion in claims were paid to over 273,000 individuals in 2013, an increase of 13% over 2012. Carriers such as Mutual of Omaha are touting their claims payment in advisor education pieces like the one below
